Denim & Doug

Have you ever felt like when you met someone, you clicked instantly, but yet the click wasn't through talking? It was an energy. It's like your souls or spirits did the talking. Well this is how it was when I met Douglas. Or Doug. Or Dougie. I like to call him Dougie :) One of Dougie and I's favorite things to bond is random crap from the 90's. And astrology, knick knacks and the fact that our closets overflow and take up 3/4ths of our rooms. Totally normal.

This summer Dougie did a shoot for a blog post (yes I know, it's severely embarrassing how long its taken me to get this bast started) and here are the results. It was so fun because we just wanted to mix his and I's items and get super weird. Here is one of the looks.

WELCOME

I'm Kelly.

I don't want this site to be limited to one theme or genre. What I do want, is this to be a reflection and an artistic expression of me. No restrictions. No specific title. Lots of fashion, lots of music, lots of beauty, lots of whatever feel like. Lots of my spiritual journey. And the importance of vibrating at a higher consciousness. Lots of past/current writings. Lots of my new projects and endeavors. Whatever inspires me, I'll write about. And maybe it will inspire you too.

With that said, I am me. And you are you.

I am red and you are blue.

But I'm blue too. I just want our colors to align.

Stay awhile...

know me here, be with me here

in this space that

 we create.

(

One more thing.

My hand says I'm a writer, but my heart knows I'm a poet.

BLUES, HUES & TOP KNOTS

Something about me? I RARELY wear my hair up. Like ever. I'm just lazy and always wear it down. It's easy, yet boring.  Dominick has been literally BEGGING me to wear my hair in a topknot for seriously a year. Well Dommy, the day has come. And let me tell you, to my surprise, it felt damn good. Our good friend, Alex invited Dom and I to come up to Provo to this abandoned Salt Mine to shoot photos and paint. So we invited one of our best friends Mckenzie, and her roomates Gina, Angie and Jenny. Of course it took us 5  years to get up there so we just barely made the sunlight. It went from being an alarmingly decent temperature to freezing in a matter of minutes. Luckily we caught the light AND the heat just in the knick of time.

PS. You can't go wrong with a flannel. Ever.

EGGPLANT

I'm not even lying to you, I predicted eggplant for fall long ago. And I have people to back me up on that. I never was the biggest fan... But lately I've turned over a new leaf for the color. The deep luscious color is pretty close to black and looks great paired with it & leather. Here I did different route.  I also believe its no coincidence that this trend is happening... Energetically, purple means "Enlightenment." No surprise since we are among a mass consciousness shift as a humanity. Can't you feel it? Feeling a sense of "purpose" and wanting to find that? Finding yourself caring more about what you put into your body? Discovering the benefits of meditation/yoga? You're not alone. My life has changed dramatically in the past few years and I couldn't be more grateful.

Point being, purple is damn good color all of the sudden. And we all just need to get use to it.

The rad sunglass I'm wearing are Cassette. You can check them out here:

OLDIE BUT A GOODIE

00.jpg

This shoot ended up being an unexpected one with one of my closest friends Maria Camila. She is a true talent and I'm so happy she came into my life. She was one of the first photographers I worked with coming to Utah and we did a shoot for one of my new singles at the time. She is wonderful. We shot these right after going to the Gay Pride Festival in SLC. Which saying a "good time" would be an under statement.  Check her amazing work out here.
